Course Description:

As a result of attending this conference, participants will be able to discuss surgical considerations for lower-limb amputations, the unique needs of the pediatric amputee and skin and wound care management strategies. Attendees will gain knowledge in the use of osteointegration through a patient’s story. They will be able to describe the unique nutritional needs for the amputee and managing common pain issues with prosthetic use. Participants will be able to discuss initial prosthetic fit, components and microprocessors for lower extremities as well as myoelectric prosthetics and partial-finger prosthetics for upper-extremity amputees.
